District 12

Alateen Coordinator
January 2026 - December 2027

Requirements:

  • Must be certified as an Al-Anon Member in Alateen Service (AMIAS), which requires at least 2 years of current, ongoing Al-Anon membership

  • A love of young people and a deep interest in being of service to them


​Duties:

  • Act as a liaison between District, Alateen group, and fellow Alateen sponsors

  • Attend District 12 meetings

  • Facilitate an AMIAS sponsoring schedule to ensure each meet is staffed by 2 AMIAS

District 13

Alternate District Representative 
January 2026 - December 2027

The Alt. District 13 Rep assists and serves as backup to the District 13 Representative.  If the District Representative has to step down, the Alt. District Rep will serve as District Representative.

Responsibilities:

  • ​Attends all monthly Pierce County District 13 meetings and leads District Representative is absent

  • Acquaints him/herself  with all the District 13 Representative duties so that if the District 13 Representative is unable to serve, he/she can step in to fill the position

  • Serves as backup for the District 13 business meetings, AWSC meetings, and WA Area Assemblie

Secretary
January 2026 - December 2027

The secretary proof reads and edits the mintues taken by AI during the Zoom business meetings. Unless the meeting is in person then the secretary then writes the meeting mintues.

Responsibilities:

  • Proof read and edits mintues taken by AI during the Zoom business meeting

  • Send out the edited minutes to the other members that attended the business meeting. Usually, before the next business meeting.

  • If meeting is in person secretary writes the meeting mintues.

AIS

Alternate AIS Chairperson
January 2025 - December 2026

The Alt. Chair assists and serves as backup to the AIS Chair.  If the AIS Chair has to step down, the Alternate Chair will serve as Chair.

Responsibilities:

  • ​Attends all monthly Pierce County AIS meetings and leads if Chair is absent

  • Acquaints him/herself  with all the Chairperson's duties so that if the Chairperson is unable to serve, he/she can step in to fill the position

  • Serves as backup for the District 12 and 13 business meetings, AWSC meetings, and WA Area Assemblies

Second Saturday Speaker Meeting Host (Speaker Meeting Coordinator)
January 2026 - December 2027

"Sharing Our Horizons" Second Saturday Speaker Meeting takes place the second Saturday of each month at:

Redeemer Lutheran
1001 Princeton St, Fircrest, WA 98466

Responsibilities:

  • Attend the AIS business meeting on the first Tuesday of each month from 6:30 – 8:00 PM which is currently virtual on Zoom

  • Coordinate with Church as needed

  • Order/purchase any needed supplies and turn in your receipt to the AIS Treasurer to be reimbursed

  • (Tenative) Arrive at Redeemer Lutheran at 6:00pm to open the door, put out paper products, start coffee, and assist the hosting group. 6:30—folks eat; 7:00 –the hosting group has speakers share their experience, strength, and hope; and returning the rooms as we found them beginning about 8:00. 


​Discussions are in session to bring back the Second Saturday Meeting we have a possible location at Redeemer Lutheran. 

 Speaker Bureau Coordinator
January 2026 - December 2027

Speaker Bureau Coordinator helps cordinates for Al-Anon members to speak at facilities/centers (rehab or medical) or events about Al-Anon.

Responsibilities:

  • Talk to facilities/centers or have a family day Al-Anon can speak

  • Coordinate with the facilities/center and Al-Anon members  

  • Tells the Al-Anon members the location, time, and …

  • Collaberates with outreach

Outreach Coordinator
January 2026 - December 2027

The outreach coordinator helps with attract others to Al-Anon. Through corrdinating between venues/events, creating and passing out informational packets, and create outreach material.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordiates bewteen venues/events to have an informational booth about Al-Anon

  • Sign Al-Anon members up to volunteers at event booths

  • Create welcome imformation packets for professional locations (medical centers, rehab facilities, and libraries etc.) and events

  • Collaberate with other AIS members on how to attract more people to Al-Anon.

  • Order materials for outreach

  • Create/design posters, bookmarks, business cards, and stickers
